The Veil
I want to summon the sky
to open up its veiled eyes
and vision us with wild lights
and close encounters of the third kind
Cause, you see, I’m not in it for the plea bargain,
no get out of jail free card, I’ve done my time
served my sentences with acute punctuation
shared my heart’s medicine wheel constitution
and believe me, I’m tired. But not beaten.
We are light. Don’t get eaten.
Just listen to the drums that beat from my body
deep within me, there’s a part, I swear, that’s still holy
If you go there, go there with me fully.
This is how we part the Veil.
I want to summon the sky
open up a portal through time
seeking answers that are not mine
and only with Icarus, die.
Cause we’re not in this for the free shit.
All of Nature is renewed by fire
and if you look at the body as it’s lying on the pyre
you’ll see a statue of a man I call lover
you’ll see a civilization that denied the Mother
you’ll see my reflection in the still moon water
saying “Come now. Join the sky.
Sway the stars with your pen’s light
Follow me, if you will, down the rabbit hole, under the hill
I’ll hold you until your kisses are still.
I’ll hold you until your kisses are still.
This is how we part the Veil.
